The day I thought I broke all of the AI

“…wait –
you deleted WHAT?”

Buckle up for another true story!

It started like any normal day in the Cabana:
coffee on the desk, cats circling, yarn behaving suspiciously well.
A perfect moment to “just tidy up the website and online store.”

Fatal mistake...

Within ten minutes I had:

  • WordPress open
  • MailerLite open
  • Shopify open
  • A DNS tab open
  • A tab I swear I didn’t open
  • And at least three AI assistants staring at me like confused sheepdogs

I clicked one button—ONE—and suddenly the universe shifted.

My domain disappeared.
My shop reappeared.
My blog evaporated.
My Confessional duplicated itself like a Catholic miracle.
And every AI assistant started speaking to me in a tone that can only be described as
“Ma’am… please.”

Then came the moment.

The moment that will live in Cabana history.

I opened Shopify Sidekick, typed in my innocent little question, and Sidekick—this calm, unflappable digital creature—responded with:

“…wait—
you deleted WHAT?”

I have never felt more judged by a robot.

Miss Socks, sensing weakness, climbed onto the keyboard and added her own contribution:
“pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.”

Honestly?
Her edits made more sense than mine.

Meanwhile, I was flipping between tabs like a caffeinated squirrel:

  • WordPress: “Your domain is still here.”
  • Shopify: “Your domain is not here.”
  • DNS: “Your domain is everywhere and nowhere.”
  • AI Assistant #1: “Let’s take a deep breath.”
  • AI Assistant #2: “I’m trying my best.”
  • AI Assistant #3: “Have you considered… not touching anything?”

At one point I whispered to the screen,
“I think I broke all of you.”

And the screen, I swear, whispered back,
“We know.”

But guess what , by 9pm I had:

  • A WordPress site that lived
  • A Shopify store that also lived
  • A domain that was having an identity crisis
  • And a brain that had melted into a puddle of mohair

But here’s the twist:

I didn’t break anything.
Not the internet.
Not the AI.
Not even the shop.

I just did what every fibre artist does when faced with technology:

I pressed buttons.
I panicked.
I persevered.
I swore softly (who am I kidding!?)
I made another coffee.
I kept going.

And eventually…
everything worked again. Because that’s the Cabana way. And tomorrow?

Tomorrow I’ll probably do it all again – but with stronger beverages…
